WINTER 2018 NEWSLETTER
“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
After a long, hot, dry Summer in Sydney, Winter has officially arrived. Yesterday was the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, bringing colder night temperatures and much-needed rain. We are now heading towards Summer!
Nature teaches us patience. Not everything happens when we want it or how we would like it to be. Climate change brings us unexpected extremes of heat and cold, plus more frequent extreme weather events.
This year we waited patiently for our autumn leaves to fall. They finally dropped during a windy week, one month later than normal. The autumn nights had been too warm for the leaves to turn and put on their usual show.
We are also waiting patiently for the arrival of our second grandchild. This is also a time when nature takes control and decides when the baby is ready to present itself to the world. Just as the leaves were held back, when the conditions are right, the baby will drop and birth when it’s ready.
In my practice, I see many clients from prior to conception, throughout their pregnancy and postnatal. Bowen helps prepare the body for labour and address any discomfort during pregnancy. To help prepare them for labour, I always make up a Birthing Kit for my pregnant mums. This comprises a herb tea for the last trimester, Emergency spray, essential oils to vaporize and massage oils to use during labour.
Read more about how natural therapies helped one couple have a calmer and less stressful birthing experience.
Also, in this newsletter, Helen Key of Keyhelp gives you some tips on how to help a child who is a daydreamer. There are also some tips on how to stay well this Winter.
Enjoy the cooler weather, take time to read, meditate or take up a hobby you’ve always wanted to try.
Peace, Love and Light
